Dyeing balls of yarn

August 7, 2020

This was an end-to-end process photo challenge.

I used a 12 gallon stockpot to dye three 100-yard balls of dk weight wool; I think you could do more at one time using a wider pot or a roasting pan, or even an oval crockpot.

I've attached my photos and notes. Each ball is 100 yards. I had about ten yards left over from one of them after knitting the baby hat, and could possibly have gone with a larger size. This one would fit a newborn.
